Highly sophisticated CMOS image sensors are key components of modern cameras. Technology as well as device architectures are optimized to obtain peak performance of the image sensor and the camera system. The most advanced CMOS image sensors show pixel sizes beyond 1 µm. The imagers demonstrate a light sensitivity comparable to that of the human eye.
This course is intended for the specialists in the field. A very good background of digital imaging is needed to get the most out of this course.

Elya B. Joffe, Electromagnetic Solutions Ltd., Israel is teaching this 4-day course in Advanced EMC Design, which is dealing with the theory and practices of grounding and shielding for meeting EMC objectives.
The discipline of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is concerned with the design of Electronic Systems, while minimizing electromagnetic coupling and interference from within the system and between systems to their environment. Meeting the strict EMC standards, as well as ensuring the satisfactory performance of the equipment in its intended electromagnetic environment, requires the implementation of technical measures into the system’s design. Grounding forms an inseparable part of all electronic and electrical designs, from circuit through system up to installation design. Grounding is implemented for EMC and ESD protection, for safety purposes, for lightning and surge protection. Shielding, on the other hand, is a necessity for avoiding electromagnetic field coupling from and into equipment enclosure. Adequate shielding is necessary to enhance immunity of equipment, and reduce emissions from the equipment enclosure. Grounding and shielding are two of the essential concepts in EMC design. No design will be acceptable without them being properly implemented.
Thin Film Technology is pervasive in many applications, including microelectronics, optics, magnetic, hard and corrosion resistant coatings, micro-mechanics, etc.
Progress in each of these areas depends upon the ability to selectively and controllably deposit thin films - thickness ranging from tens of Ângströms to micrometers - with specified physical properties.This, in turn, requires control - often at the atomic level - of film microstructure and microchemistry.
There are a vast number of deposition methods available and in use today. However, all methods have their specific limitations and involve compromises with respect to process specifics, substrate material limitations, expected film properties, and cost.This makes it difficult to select the best technique for any specific application.

Modern electronics are extremely vulnerable to electrical transients and overstress, which are “predictably unpredictable”. Protection measures can be designed and implemented, are available, but many businesses are not aware of the threat and/or not willing to invest the time or money: There is a prevailing “It Can’t Happen” attitude.
This course will provide the engineering know-how, to describe transient protection and mitigation techniques and to provide the technical tools enabling the engineer to analyze the vulnerability of equipment and design protection of product, systems and facilities, to transients and electrical overstress in electronic circuits and installations, in order to meet the applicable standards and codes

He is a new instructor of the CEI-Europe and is a professional expert on the subject of design and manufacturing of electronic sensors and ASIC designing, testing, and release for such products. Since the late nineties, CEI-Europe and Professor Albert J.P. Theuwissen have delivered courses for engineers, expanding knowledge in the areas of Digital Imaging, Image Sensors Technology, and Digital Camera Systems. Now, the longtime partners take another step by presenting courses in the eLearning format, making the access to obtain Dr. Theuwissen’s expertise readily available for a global audience.
