PhD, Lars Microwave, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Dr. Josefsson was with Ericsson Microwave Systems AB in Mölndal,
Sweden, for more than 40 years. In 2001 he was appointed Senior
Expert in Antenna Systems within the Ericsson Group. Currently he
runs his own consulting company.
At Ericsson Dr. Josefsson was responsible for the introduction
of new antenna technologies and systems, R&D projects, and
antenna related in-house training. He was involved in the early
definition phase of many antenna systems that were later put into
production by Ericsson, e.g. flat plate antennas, phase steered AEW
antennas, and 3D radar antennas including the AESA phased array
antenna aimed at next generation airborne radar
applications. A major part of his research in recent years
deals with array antennas and antenna systems on curved
surfaces.
Dr. Josefsson was a Visiting Scientist at UCLA 1982-1983.
He was Adjunct Professor at Chalmers University of Technology in
Gothenburg 1983 - 1985, as well as 2004 - 2006. He was also Adjunct
Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm 1996 -
2003.
In 1999, he was elected Fellow of the IEEE. In 2004 he received
the Thulin Silver Medal from the Swedish Aeronautical Society for
his contributions to several generations of airborne radar antenna
developments. He has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE
Transactions on Antennas and Propagation and is co-author of the
book 'Conformal Array Antenna Theory and Design', John Wiley,
(2006).
Dr. Josefsson has been a member of the CEI-Europe Faculty since
2007.
