Semiconductor, responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and
engineering at this state-of-the-art DRAM production line.
During twenty years at Intel, Mr McDonald held a series of
Management positions in Engineering, Manufacturing and
Yield/Quality and Reliability. He spent three years on assignment
at International SEMATECH as director of the Advanced Technology
Development Facility. His last assignment was as Factory Manager
for Intel's state of the art Flash memory wafer fab in Colorado
Springs. Previously he spent eight years at National Semiconductor
and overall he has 33 years of experience in semiconductor process
development and manufacturing on DRAM, SRAM, EPROM and
microprocessor technology and products.
Mr McDonald has worked in all areas of wafer fab engineering and
is a specialist in new technology transfer and yield improvement.
He has worked on several new factory start up projects and has
published articles and taught short courses in the areas of
Technology Transfer, Training, Statistical Process Control and New
Trends in Manufacturing. He received his B.Sc. in Electronics from
the University of Southampton, UK, and his M.Sc. in Electrical
Engineering, from National Technological University, USA.
Mr McDonald has been a member of the CEI-Europe Faculty since
1995.
