Dr. Mittal is
currently responsible for managing Applied's North America Service
business. He also held an executive position at the KLA-Tencor.
Prior to that, Dr Mittal was at Intel Corporation for 17 years,
where he was Director of Worldwide Foundry Operations and Factory
Manager for Intel's D2 Fab. He has spent extensive time developing
foundry management methods, yield improvement methods, and
technology development of logic and flash technologies. As
worldwide Foundry operations manager, he worked closely with
foundries on technology, yield, quality, and design related issues.
Dr Mittal also held various management positions within the factory
that included Manufacturing manager and Yield manager, prior to
becoming Factory Manager. He managed yield improvements for Intel's
0.6um and 0.25um logic technologies and managed the 0.18um new
technology startup using Intel's copy exact process.
Dr. Mittal has
published numerous papers on multi-level metallization and yield
enhancement and holds two U.S. patents. He received a Sc.D. in
Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, a MS in Materials Engineering from Purdue
University, and a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the
Indian Institute of Technology.
Dr Mittal has been a
member of the CEI-Europe faculty since 2004.
