Early 2006 Mr Seidel joined NoMoR Research as Chief Technical
Officer and became a member of the board. NoMoR is a leading
company in the area of real time system emulation, specialized in
the implementation of future radio access networks and provides
consultancy and standardisation services.
Mr Seidel is currently engaged in research on future mobile
communication systems such as 3GPP LTE and HSPA+, specific topics
including radio resource management, scheduling, hybrid ARQ, QoS as
well as network architectures for all IP networks.
He received his Electrical Engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in
Information Technology at the University of Technology Dresden,
Germany in 1995. After a temporal employment at Honeywell Inc., US
in the field of Satellite Communication, he joined Panasonic
R&D Center in the field of UMTS research and led the Mobile
Radio Network research team.
Mr Seidel has been involved in many Pansonic and EU research
projects and contributed actively to UMTS standardisation in ETSI
SMG and 3GPP. Since the establishment of 3GPP, he attended
different Radio Access Network working groups mainly RAN1 and RAN2.
Besides his numerous 3GPP contributions, he has published several
articles at international conferences and in magazines, and has
filed over 50 patents and patent applications in the area of
wireless access networks, some of those deem to be essential to
UMTS, CDMA2000 and WiMAX. Overall there are more then 300 Patent
applications being submitted worldwide.
Mr Seidel became a member of the CEI-Europe Faculty in 2008.
