Westford, MA, USA.
Dan Swanson received his BSEE degree from the University of
Illinois and his MSEE degree from the University of Michigan.
He has designed broadband amplifiers, YIG tuned oscillators,
dielectric resonator oscillators, VCO's, thin-film filters, and
high Q mechanical filters for various companies. In his current
position he is applying electromagnetic field-solvers to RF and
microwave design problems that range from wireless frequencies to
millimeter-waves.
His filter design activities include military, wireless, and
communications applications. Mr. Swanson is a fellow of the IEEE.
He is past chairman of MTT-8 Filters and Passive Components and
co-chair of MTT-1 Computer Aided Design. He is on the editorial
board for the IEEE MTT-S Transactions, IEEE MTT-S Microwave and
Wireless Components Letters, and the Int. Journal of Microwave and
Millimeter-Wave Computer-Aided Engineering. Mr. Swanson is the
primary author of Microwave Circuit Modeling Using Electromagnetic
Field Simulation, published by Artech House. He has published
numerous technical papers, given many workshop and short course
presentations, and holds two patents.
Mr Swanson has been a member of the CEI-Europe faculty since
1998.
