Dr. Scragg has been an active researcher and lecturer in the thin film photovoltaic research team at Uppsala University since 2010. His expertise is within the field of Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) based thin film solar cells, where he specialises in experimental and theoretical aspects of the synthesis of CZTS and other functional thin films. More generally, he is interested in the development of rare-metal-free thin film materials for large scale solar energy in different implementations. Current projects include applying a "combinatorial" approach to facilitate rapid discovery of novel photovoltaic materials.
In course 051 he will mainly speak about synthesis methods for photovoltaic thin films and the parameters that can influence the growth and properties of the films. An overview of thin-film combinatorial methods will also be given.
Dr Scragg has been a member of the Continuing Education Institute-Europe Faculty since 2017.
