Tobias Törndahl received his PhD degree in Inorganic chemistry in 2004 at Uppsala University. In 2012 he became Associate professor in Engineering sciences at Uppsala University.
Dr. Törndahl is a lecturer for undergraduate courses in Thin Film Technology and in a graduate course in Solar Cell Technology. He is currently leading a group on transparent contact materials for chalcopyrite solar cells at Div. Solid State Electronics, Uppsala University. The main part of the research is carried out on controlling electrical and optical properties of functional ALD and CVD layers in several solar cell device structures. The thin film synthesis is coupled with materials characterization, interface chemistry and solar cell device performance.
Dr. Törndahl has published 45 manuscripts related to atomic layer deposition, solar cell materials and materials characterization.
Dr. Törndahl is a new member of the Continuing Education Institute-Europe faculty since 2017.
