Ph.D., Antenna Consultant, Concord, Mass., USA
Dr. Steyskal studied electrical engineering and received his Ph.D.
degree from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm,
Sweden.
He joined the Swedish Defence Research Establishment (FOA) in
1962, where he explored radar cross section estimation and radar
stealth techniques, and later array antennas. In 1980 he relocated
to the USA where, at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL),
Antenna Technology Branch, Hanscom AFB, MA, he pursued his research
interests in electromagnetics, phased array antennas, digital
beamforming, and array signal processing. In 2007 he retired
from the position AFRL Senior Scientist, Antennas, and now works as
an AFRL on-site consultant.
Dr. Steyskal has been a Visiting Scientist at the Polytechnic
University of New York, 1976-78, and at the Federal Institute of
Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland, 1992. He also held a
part-time position as Adjunct Professor in Antenna Technology at
KTH, 1996-2004. He was the General Chairman of the
international symposium "Phased Arrays '85", Bedford, MA,
1985, and he has served two terms as Associated Editor for the IEEE
Transaction on Antennas and Propagation. He is an AFRL Fellow and
an IEEE Fellow.
He has published about 100 conference and journal papers.
Dr. Steyskal has been a member of the CEI-Europe Faculty since
2007.
